RSI: To Just Function is a Problem

Though Self Improvement is intrinsic to the journey, I have a problem with how we’re expected to just function. I’m sitting in my dining room, my music playing and my roommate testing his Magic deck. With my fingers on the keyboard, I’m typing words while my entire life of decisions swirl around in my head. I’ve already started, deleted, and restarted thrice. I’ve settled on this topic because I believe that this statement is a universally relatable fact.

See, I’ve been calculating things like hours and dollars a lot lately; asking the ever important question: “What is the best use of my time?”  and in doing so, I’ve realized that I spend too many hours commuting and recovering from my commute.

Avoid minimum wage activities.

Here’s My#50percent: if you aren’t constantly asking yourself what the best use of your time is, you aren’t doing this life thing right. The best use of your time doesn’t have to always be work. Now, you might have a hard time believing that I just put those words in writing, so I’ll explain. Right now, the best use of my time is this conversation with you. In a few minutes or so, the best use of my time will be the deep coma I’ll have earned after working my regular job and coming home to pour the benefits of my musings onto this page. Tomorrow, the best use of my time will be seeking the long-term solution to my MWA–minimum wage activity–problem. Get it?

I have a problem with how we’re expected to just function because we aren’t being taught these concepts. Then, even when we are, the design of the system pushes us into the activities we’re supposed to be avoiding. I have a problem with how we’re expected to just function because there should be more to life than just function. Unfortunately, life is a series of MWA’s when you aren’t born into financial wealth or provided the education AND the opportunity to capitalize on what you’ve learned. We shouldn’t be made to feel guilty when we want to spend irreplaceable moments doing enjoyable things. We also shouldn’t be made to feel guilty when we have to sacrifice that many more hours of life that we’ll never get back working jobs that we’d rather simply Not because just functioning is expensive.

Those Minimum Wage Activities that we’re supposed to be avoiding are often the elements of life that keep us sane. Some clean to work through thoughts, unpleasantness, and turmoil. Some drive just to feel like they’re going somewhere. Sometimes, an MWA is the only thing protecting the general public from yet another mass shooting… but the expectation is that we function without regard for the inequity of the design. I have a problem with that.

Do More. Require Better.

WDDIJ Reflection

Bet you thought I was gone for good?

Happy 2 year anniversary to Words Don’t Do it Justice. I came back for this special occasion just to share with you all some thoughts. It was a wild ride writing for WDDIJ, even if I wasn’t around the longest or anything – it gave me an outlet to express my ideas and opinions to an audience, something I had never really had before. It proved to me that I could actually go out there and put my thoughts into writing and that people would actually give a damn as to what I had to say.

Sure, everyone else around here had way more interesting content to bring to the table but I thought I did the best I could. Ruthless always manages to attract interesting talent to himself, even in the days before WDDIJ it was like that. I enjoyed my entire time there, and I hope you enjoyed me as well. It was fun trying to find something to talk about, something to hopefully shed light on for those unaware. I talked a lot about the Middle East during my time there but that is because it was something that was always kind of personal to me. A lot of people have the entirely wrong idea about Islam, and as a historian it makes me cringe when people act like the Middle East was this savage land that we should just carpet bomb. Islam is so much more than what the Media wants you to believe, and while I am not a Muslim myself, I hold their religion in deep regard and some of the nicest and most selfless individuals I have met have been Muslims.

They have their bad apples, but you should not let the radical extremists color your judgment of them. My father would tell me of his time in Iraq and Afghanistan and how the average Muslims would tell them about how Bin Laden and the terrorists had gotten everything wrong, and that what they did was not Islam and was not in line with Islam.

“It’s all wrong,” my Dad quoted one of his workers as saying. The time my father spent over there is part of the reason that I decided to dig into it, I wanted to know more about the time he spent over there. So, I hope I didn’t bore you all too much with my ramblings. As for me? Well, I might come back to WDDIJ in the future if my life ever winds down. Right now I’m grinding full-speed ahead in an accelerated college program. Eight week term after eight week term with only short breaks in between. Besides that, I am also a self-published author and am currently working on my own Historical Fantasy novel, all of which wouldn’t have been possible without WDDIJ. WDDIJ gave me the confidence I needed to get out there and put my thoughts into writing, to make them open to the public instead of just keeping them to myself. I have a mouth now, thanks to  THE Ruthless Wonder and Words Don’t Do It Justice.

White Privilege

White Privilege

Right. I’m probably going to get alot of hate for this one, but I can’t be the only person annoyed by this. Recently I’m seeing a pretty interesting trend involving alot of pretty little blond haired blue eyed white girls asking if someone has ever heard of ‘white privilege’. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist, white privilege does exist, and choosing not to talk about it constantly doesn’t mean that I am trying to sweep it under the rug — I just don’t see the point in talking about it as a white person. See, the problem I have with this entire discourse is how fake people are. Yes, white people are inherently privileged. Yes, I benefit (from time to time) because most of the time my complexion is lighter than most (as an Italian, I can get pretty brown if exposed to enough sun). Sure, as an Italian I am technically considered white (but according to the United States Census, so are Middle Easterners), but that didn’t stop me from experiencing my fair share of flack when I was a youth with a natural tan that turned me brown and hair that basically curls into an Afro on its own will.  On some days people thought I was hispanic, and some people though I might have just been a really light-skinned mulatto. You try being any of those in the heart of conservative Oklahoma. Coupled with the fact that most of my childhood I lived in low-income neighborhoods when we could afford it and motels when we could not, I did get a little taste of what life was. The difference? I could stay in-doors and become white as a ghost. African-American’s don’t have that luxury. This is why I cannot help but feel the way I do when it comes to white privilege, I find it so disingenuous when many people speak of it and these are the reasons why:

Social Justice Warriors. I have steadily come to hate Social Justice Warriors who sit behind their hipster glasses yelling ‘Check your privilege’ at people. Why? Because White Privilege as a concept to primarily affluent white college student Social Justice Warriors is just a way that they can get around the fact that they feel guilty about the fact that they’ve been inherently racist throughout their life without ever honing up to their personal mistakes and taking responsibility for themselves. Instead, they still sit around on the internet telling individuals to ‘check their privilege’ and bemoaning how unfair minorities are treated in America without actually doing anything to help said minorities or their communities. By acknowledging ‘white privilege’ you are essentially, as a white person, saying that you agree that people of color receive, in general, a disproportionately fucked up end of the deal while simultaneously still reaping all the benefits of ‘white privilege’. This kind of annoys me. I’m fine with Persons of Color talking about White Privilege because they have to deal with the shit end of the stick — but the affluent white girl at starbucks talking about white privilege? She can get the fuck out of my life. Seriously. There is a difference between educating people about White Privilege in order to destroy the gap that exists, and just using a buzzword so that you can make it seem like you actually care — spoiler alert, she probably still clutches her purse and walks to the otherside of the road when she sees a black man walking toward her. See, I support actual education of the inequality of society as created by a system of Ethnocentric disparity. That is beneficial. By teaching all children early on about discrimination and why it is a fucking asinine concept, you have the possibility of rooting it out. You are actively making a difference. Posting to everything on facebook about ‘white privilege’, however, is just you trying to make yourself feel better.

You cannot address the plight of the African-American community until you address the problems at the root of the plight — about how our government spends more on guns and bombs than it does on education, the fact that a pointless war on drugs sees African-Americans incarcerated at higher rates and for longer duration than White People. You cannot fix the problems with America by simply talking about White Privilege. Being an internet crusader about white privilege isn’t going to change anything. There is no point in “enlightening” adult white people to how much easier they have it, because a majority of white people know they have it easier — the difference is is that the majority of white people do not flop around on tumblr and twitter pretending like they actually care by going on about ‘white privilege’ like talking about white privilege is some how going to make matters better for a person of color. Seriously. I cannot name a single white person off the top of my head that just suddenly woke up one day and went “You know, thank you for telling me about white privilege, I had never noticed before that African-American’s disproportionately get the shit kicked out of them by police”. The reply to you mentioning these things is almost always:
a) The Racist Reply
b) The “I already know and shit sucks” Reply

You cannot fix answer A because there is no fixing stupid, and you cannot fix problem B by simply yelling WHITE PRIVILEGE  and CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE. That isn’t the way world works, as much as you so desperately wish to appear enlightened and progressive to your fellow Social Justice Warriors, you’re being hilariously disingenuous if you’re going to sit there as a white person  and trumpet on about white privilege like you’ve never benefited from it and like you understand what the average minority deals with. You have no clue. I have only had a small taste of it, and like I said, I was able to change — they aren’t. I can’t even tell you how horribly it must suck, but you know what, I actually try to make a difference.

Going on about White Privilege as a white person is simply taking the easy way out; you are acknowledging that you do not have the burdens that a person of color might have but do nothing to reverse the inequality. It is easy to claim solidarity, but unless you’re dedicating your time to actually making changes for the better, I got no respect for you. Going on about ‘white privilege’ as if it suddenly makes you understand what a Person of Color experiences does not make you enlightened, it makes you a douchebag — someone who wants to reap the benefits on social media of seeming like they are committed to social justice but in reality probably spends more time in Starbucks than they do in disenfranchised neighborhoods.

To admit that you are white and privileged is a frivolous thing that serves no purpose other than to make yourself feel good. You do nothing to bridge the African-American Caucasian Achievement Gap in Education, you do nothing to abridge Socio-Economic Factors that lead youth to turn to a life of crime. Honestly, most of the people that speak about ‘white privilege’ would never set foot in a ‘bad neighborhood’ — never donate their time or money to a community center, never volunteer to teach at a ‘high risk’ school.

Get off your high horses. Stop pretending like you give a rats ass on the internet and actually go out and change something. Push to have laws changed, become an educator and volunteer to teach in low-income neighborhoods. Give your time to community centers, do something to better poverty stricken communities. If you own a business, hire qualified minorities. There is alot you as a privileged white person can do to change the bullshit system in America, but most of you won’t do anything about it — you’ll just sit on tumblr, twitter, and facebook talking about ‘white privilege’.
Well, that’s my rant. Sorry if you don’t agree with me, but I would rather see people going out and giving more to low-income neighborhoods instead of sitting around talking about how privileged they are. One might actually make a difference.

The Letter Series: Dear White People…

I don’t feel sorry for you. I know that you are not responsible for what your ancestors did. I know that you are probably good people who just want to live life and enjoy your personal pursuits of happiness. You are on the other hand responsible for how you act and fail to act now. You are responsible for the injustices that are allowed to continue now. Your freedom to move on with your life unaffected and oblivious to your neighbor’s struggle comes at a very high price that you will never be required to pay… because it has already been paid in blood, strife, poverty, and the inequity suffered by people of color all over this country, and the world.

I’m not going to beat you over the head with gimmicky titles like “White Privilege,” or even gut punch you with what a few bad law enforcement officials have done. I just want you to take a moment to consider what you have actually done to contribute to the state of affairs right now. Have you personally engaged anyone in a conversation that acknowledges this nation’s problem with race? Have you spoken up when someone you know said something racially repugnant when there weren’t any people of color around? Have you stopped clutching your purse or feeling for your wallet when you’ve found yourself alone and in proximity of a person of color? Have you stopped assuming that every Black person has to listen to and enjoy rap? Have you stopped ending statements you think are complementary with “… for a Black girl/boy…” and not thought it either? Have you even thought about the things you do that might be offensive to any of your 5 black friends?

You see, like many other people of color, I have spent my life trying to ignore the injustices and inequity. I have applied and interviewed for jobs. I have had the quality of my work and content of my character questioned. I have been wrongly accused by people I thought were my friends. I have been backhanded by statements meant to be complimentary…

I was taught in junior high school that I was not allowed to be a statistic. which meant that I wasn’t allowed to have children out of wed lock; not because of religion or standard of propriety, but because that’s all that You would expect of me. I wasn’t allowed to not go to college; not just because education is important, but because I am Black, and Black girls aren’t expected to make it that far. I wasn’t allowed just be average; not just because I could do better and be more, but because being average as a Black girl meant that I would never even come close to being able to compete with an average anyone else, and thus I needed to be extraordinary just to be even with the average not Black girl.

Extraordinary Black Woman

Dear White People,
I do not feel sorry for you, and I don’t feel sorry for myself either. I am extraordinary… ok, so maybe I do feel just a bit sorry for you. I’m sorry that your capacity for ignorance has been fostered, coddled, and encouraged one generation after another, while Black people have been forced to bear burdens and strife that has made us stronger and more resilient to adversity, one generation after another. With every back-handed compliment my skin gets as thick as it is Black, and I get better, smarter, and more brilliant every time you force me to act like your ignorance is a non-factor to my continued existence. With every feigned smile and false praise, I get to be that positive representation of what a Black person really is; I get to help one more of You shed one more ill-conceived notion. I get to be that extraordinary Black girl whom you met that one time… one of Your 5 Black friends… one of the good ones…

I just hope that one day You will acknowledge what Your ancestors did; that You will claim Your privilege, and that You do take a moment to think about the things You do that might be offensive to any of Your 5 black friends… that You might one day require more and better of Yourself, because You finally realize the price of Your blissful ignorance is just too high.

Do More. Require Better.

Notes From Your Favorite Super Villian: Your Justice is SHIT!

Let’s get our minds right and set the mood really quick. Pick your poison folks

You pick up what I’m laying down? Good Let’s go.

This JD behind my name doesn’t stop me from saying these words. Your justice is SHIT! You’ve been fed lies from everyone who says the system works. It doesn’t Never really has if you think about it. Rich white landowners have never wanted to pay taxes and so they decided to send poor folks to die fighting England to make America. Prohibition proved that any crisis can let a government seize far more power than it has ever had. And that however controls the channels of influence controls what is and is not justice.

Every gangster, bootlegger, bank robber, and speakeasy owner(racist or inclusive) was a hero to the common every day person. Because they were sticking it to who they felt might be in bed with the people who caused the problem in the first place. But banks, and the 1% are best left to another piece or one of my guest bloggers.

I say your justice is shit because your very perception of what is just is shit. Why? Because you have stood by and let the military offload their hardware onto police departments across the US. effectively making them as less effective troops. What’s that? Cops are brave? They are as important as soldiers? Not even close. There was a time in America where everyone understood that military hardware was for them. I’ll grant you some semi-automatic weapons and shotguns are needed for cops on swat teams. But ask that idiot brain of yours a question. If the normal average beat cop is here to handle situations in a non-violent manner, why are they dressed like a strike team, and have weapons fresh out of Call of Duty?

I’m not waiting, because your answers are shit too. You’ve been told crime is everywhere and every cop is in mortal danger at all times. Numbers don’t normally lie so here’s the FBI

According to statistics collected by the FBI, 95 law enforcement officers were killed in line-of-duty incidents in 2012. Of these, 48 law enforcement officers died as a result of felonious acts, and 47 officers died in accidents. In addition, 52,901 officers were victims of line-of-duty assaults. Comprehensive data tables about these incidents and brief narratives describing the fatal attacks are included in the 2012 edition of Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted, released today.

FeloniousDeaths

The 48 felonious deaths occurred in 26 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The number of officers killed as a result of criminal acts in 2012 decreased by 24 when compared with the 72 officers who died in 2011. The five- and 10-year comparisons show an increase of seven felonious deaths compared with the 2008 figure (41 officers) and a decrease of four deaths compared with 2003 data (52 officers). Source: FBI Press Release

That’s right sports fans, you, your parents, and 5 of your closest friends have a better chance of hitting consecutive jackpots with the lottery than a cop does of being killed. I know I know, you’re saying, but what about the injuried? And I have a friend who is a cop do you want him to be in more danger? I’ll ignore the second since it means you actually think I advocate wanton lawlessness and murder. have you not seen my posts people? I’m for less sharing of authority, not less authority. But you want a free, open, democratic republic style society. That means someone has to handle police work.

cause Sheriffs need this right?

cause Sheriffs need this right?

And hey most cops aren’t bad folks right? Of course. But I didn’t say all cops need to be fired. I said your concept of justice is shit. And then I tricked you into thinking this would be a pro cop killer article using the same tactics that other folks use to keep you thinking like them. But that new motto of ours is more than just a simple point. Let’s toss the niceties aside folks. While you weren’t paying any attention to the system you call justice when it works in your favor the federal government passed legislation in 1994 allowing the Pentagon to donate surplus military equipment from the Cold War to local police departments. And since then multiple bills have allowed more donations, and general low-cost pricing for police departments. It’s why small town sheriffs have tanks, and a police department with fewer officers than my blog has writers have rocket-propelled grenades.

This is Colorado, not Chicago, where you might have had a point.

This is Colorado, not Chicago, where you might have had a point.

Take a good look at this picture. You aren’t seeing an army unit handling unruly crowds, this is the gear for Sheriffs. That’s right, Andy Griffith is no longer the model look for Sheriffs. These are not Peace officers protecting and serving. This is tactical assault gear on the local boys to enforce a particular brand of law.

And you pay for it.

Let that sink in for a moment or two. When you see protestors like Occupy beaten and pepper sprayed… we all paid for that.

When a 87 year old grandmother is slammed to the pavement… we paid for it.

When a man is killed because the police decide to use a chokehold on an unarmed man who had just stopped a fight under the guise of him allegedly at some point in the past selling untaxed cigarettes… You guessed it kids, we paid for that to happen. And it disgusts me. And you don’t get to leave without having the video of it presented to you. But first I want you to see his face as they applied it. how his hands are clearly up and not resisting.

Protecting themselves by serving as your murderer.

Protecting themselves by serving as your murderer.

Now as I was saying there is video of it all. And this isn’t from 2 years ago, 2 months ago, or even 2 weeks ago. This is 2 DAYS before I’m writing this post on Saturday. This is July 17th of this year(2014) in New York. This video clearly shows he was not resisting, he was not in the process of selling cigarettes untaxed or otherwise. And he clearly tells them he cannot breathe as they pile on top of him, slamming him to the pavement and repeatedly keep him from catching his breath.

Disturbing footage right? And that is in New York. And you heard him and the crowd. He was the one BREAKING UP the fight that got them called. And you heard the excuses before and after. But that de-escalation training is clearly working right? The NYPD announced tonight that Officer Daniel Pantaleo(The one who did the actual chokehold itself), an 8-year veteran, has been placed on “modified assignment,” pending the outcome of the dual probes by the district attorney and Internal Affairs. If you’re starting to think this looks less and less like the America you want don’t worry. And if you are concerned I’m about to say let’s institute the Purge don’t worry.

Afterall, you can live comfortably knowing this wasn’t you. That the cops you know are good guys. That in fact you hang with lots of great law enforcement officers of all races and genders and they would never be like this with anyone. Hell you’ll remember that even Ruthless himself has friends and family in law enforcement. So they can’t be all bad.

But I told you.

Your justice is shit. Because any human being that can look at what you’ve seen today and say to themselves that’s alright because it isn’t me and/or my family, …you’re the real monster here. When asked why I call myself a villain and a monster from time to time and seem to revel in it, I often say I am a monster because I do not deny the pleasures I wish to partake in, nor the methods it requires to have them. And I am a villain because I put a mirror up to our so-called society to remind it of what it really is.

And today that’s you. You who feel comfortable with a constant internal refrain of it wasn’t me and mine so what. Your idea of justice is favoritism and you don’t even have the courage to admit it. I hate what these cops did. I love that I have family I have never heard of having done anything like this. I respect the courage of them, I respect the courage of the men and women in the armed services branches. But I cannot exist without the thought that we have escalated our local police departments and sheriffs departments into miniature strike forces without all that additional breeding out of psychological issues, massive prejudices, and without any regard for what constant escalation might be doing to us all.

I hear tin foil, tea party, hippie, anarchist, and libertarian folks talk about the police state. But it is already here, because you see justice as a concept concerning everyone but yourself. And those in power hope you keep thinking that way. And if you can go through all of this and not think there needs to be serious thought given to non-lethal weapons, and other training for officers. You better hope the next cop you deal with thinks of justice the exact same way you do, and doesn’t decide to make you the one they decide to protect and serve by protecting themself from you while they serve as your murderer. Wake up folks. Wake up. Your “Justice” is SHIT!

Weddings, Reunions, Dental vists, and SHAKE UPS!

So you may have noticed someone has been missing a lot lately. You may have even noticed when he goes missing he doesn’t always explain why. Well…yeah no real explanation, sorry for that.

In other news I have been gone meeting old friends, getting massive dental work, and being best man in a wedding. Shout out to Superfans Chris and Ania Moncrief(aka Superman and Lois Lane) who celebrated their love in the classiest of weddings this past weekend.

You crashed both the wrong and the right wedding.

You crashed both the wrong and the right wedding.

But that Shakeup word is here again for good reason.

Things are about to get interesting. Not only has WDDIJ been dealing with the …well Hilarious nature of advertising negotiations, but as you may have noticed we’ve lost a few authors. These things are not points to worry over. Trust me. In fact, the very way you view WDDIJ is about to change for the better.

In a short explanation, we’re doing an overhaul.

Why?

Because at 5500 views, we are little less than halfway to the year two viewership goal, and its only been 3 months.

In short, I’ve been short sighted.

To remedy that, I had to get to work.

And believe you me, the work is paying off.

Launching this fall is our interview series “Imperial Dreams”

Launching sooner rather than later this summer is a new format to the website

And Look for some shake ups in the staff as well.

Nothing drastic folks, but we want you to have a great experience.

And we want you to come to us for more of your daily content.

SO we need to be a place you want to come to.

And since I’ve been slacking on that. It is time to pick up the pace.

Of course I could tell you so much more, but as you know…

WORDS DON’T DO IT JUSTICE!

– THE Ruthless Wonder

White Knights, Rejection, and Internet Movements

THE Ruthless Wonder on a Thursday? …Yep

And before we get into it. Rest In Peace to Maya Angelou. There are tons of poets I know who grew up loving her work. She was one of the early impacts on my writing style, and I know very few women who didn’t at some point quote Phenomenal Woman like it was scripture.

So you’re probably watching that thinking I’m going to make some point. I’m not. Just check out her videos. Seriously. Especially if you’re even slightly geeky.

Now let’s get into things.

I get odd writer’s block from time to time. I can’t work on …say, a poem I’ve been crafting for a while, but I can work on say a script I’ve left sitting for a few months, or a short story series I need to get back to(don’t judge me). And then there are times like right now. I have a poem, 2 scripts, 3 short stories, and a novel project all wanting me to work on them, but they haven’t exactly cloned me to do them all at once. If you noticed I didn’t mention blogging, you’re keener than I thought. Yeah blogging comes easily or it doesn’t. Honestly it doesn’t take more than about a half hour to write the piece, and about 20 minutes to edit. But if I’m not in the head space to write it can be laborious.

Most times it’s because the topic I’m talking about isn’t necessarily the one I want to. Why don’t I blog more about what I want to? Because honestly, most times the topic isn’t interesting enough for a blog. To take you behind the curtain for a moment there is a lot to be said for the fact that my topics usually start as something I want to talk about in conversation. And then it develops. For instance, I have a friend who is one of WDDIJ’s superfans, she’s been reading for basically the entire time we’ve been a blog. I would love to talk to her about the fitness culture she belongs to. I rather obviously don’t have a fit form, and most assuredly haven’t gone near crossfit, but its a great conversation to talk about in a blog post. Hopefully, she’ll grace us with a piece, so I won’t have to.

Today’s topic I don’t want to talk about, but not for the usual reasons. I don’t want to talk about it because I don’t want more attention given to the person involved. And most of the planet has hopefully formed an opinion. But just briefly I want to talk about a collateral issue I haven’t seen addressed. The person is Elliot Oliver Robertson Rodger. And the issue I want to talk about is

The effect of white knight rejection.

Whiteknights

Now to a degree I understand the plight of the white knight. In their minds they are defending whatever group from what they perceive as an attempt to bully them. And as a guy who from time to time is the Usurper and not the Emperor, I can get with the idea of the outnumbered or outgunned needing some help. But what happens when the ulterior motive of a Super Villain like myself can’t happen? Well I have to go regroup and come up with a new plan. It is something folks like myself learn very early. Essentially a momentary loss is not permanent unless you let it become one. But I want you to pay attention to the words below.

“My orchestration of the Day of Retribution is my attempt to do everything, in my power, to destroy everything I cannot have… I will kill them all and make them suffer, just as they have made me suffer, It is only fair.”

Those are some of Roger’s chilling words in his manifesto. These are not the words of a stable mind to be sure, but his retribution, and the concept of fairness in it is something we often hear…from those staunch defenders. that what you are doing isn’t fair, or what you said isn’t fair, or that in spite of the kind of person you are in public or private, you getting more attention is not fair. When they are being a good person. When they should be the object of (insert group or gender identity[usually women] here)’s attention and affection. That the kind of person who makes the kinds of comments they disagree with shouldn’t be rewarded by the group. That what the group wants and what it says it wants aren’t the same because the group isn’t into the speaker.

Most of the world can recognize, have dealt with, have said something in that last paragraph. And on the average, while you look a little silly as a white knight in an internet conversation, especially to Super Villains like myself, most white knights don’t heavily internalize enough to go crazy. So why did this asshole? The answer is uncomfortable. He was never all there to begin with. Mental illness doesn’t usually just appear at his age. But that isn’t what I’m blaming here. In my opinion the gunner lost his marbles, because he was already an entitled twit going into his adolescence. With the access he had to successful hollywood, the relative notoriety of his parents, and the environment the kid grew up in, he had that loathsome of syndromes “Self-important Syndrome” You’ve met these people, they believe there is something intrinsically important about them because they are linked to someone else who is for some reason important.

You take that, then you add his tendency to white knight, and his support of the incels on PUAhate(You may recall Wrath of Ruthless co-host Ronin identifying them as having grown some influence in the MGTOW movement as well), and of course a healthy dose of clearly unhealthy expectations about what he brings to the table, and what is needed to get into a serious relationship much less sleep with a woman. Then give him the money and lack of affect to stop caring about the social contract of civilization and you get what happened.

Again this isn’t to say I hate white knights. I think in any conversation(get ready to get mad), they are a necessity. It lets things have a perspective most folks don’t account for. And from time to time, when someone is being actually abusive, the white knight usually helps put a stop to things. But this is at best a dangerous dalliance. A tricky and tenuous alliance. And here I think it does us all a disservice to place all blame on white knights for this twat, or to let them off the hookup entirely. When anyone gets rejected it sucks. I agree wholeheartedly. Even your favorite Super Villain has had been rejected and *gasp* had a few heart breaks over time. But where I basically take it as part of life, this guy, most incels, and what I can only call an alarming amount of MGTOWs see it as some vast female conspiracy.
