Happy Valentine’s Day 2018

Happy Valentine’s Day 2018

Have I ever told you that I like all of the holidays? So of course I love Valentine’s Day too! Not because of the materialistic elements that have been incorporated into most of the holidays. No, I love that there are specific days where we are encouraged to have fun, celebrate, and spend invaluable time with people we like. With that in mind, I want to tell you all… well it’s in the title. Although today, being Valentine’s Day, also marks the how-ever-many-thousandth anniversary of a certain somebody’s massacre (which I read that some bitter jerk face decided to try Read more »

Progress is just beyond the horizon…

Progress is just beyond the horizon…

Progress has to be difficult or else everyone would. “How, far up can I go Before you say you love me? You love me not? You love me? You love me not? I’m flying but I’m dying faster Hoping you won’t go a way.” The words are important on days like today. You may just now be hearing this amazing song from Tech N9ne’s upcoming Special Effects, but you’ve surely felt like he feels. We all have that point in our lives where we stretch out beyond ourselves. Where we go for something beyond everything we’ve tried to date. That Read more »

Main characters and Misanthrophes.

Main characters and Misanthrophes. Madness tends to occur around my neck of the woods in odd spurts. So like last week I’m taking a break from my usual ranting to say something far more relaxed. And let’s start with a simple question. Do you like people? Now I don’t mean this in a condescending manner, or even in a sexual manner. I mean when you look at the people around you, do you find yourself enjoying the existence of other human beings around you generally speaking? It’s a tough question. And the answer gets to a deeper idea which I Read more »

Be A Better You Without Beyonce

Be A Better You Without Beyonce

So I’m back, but be patient with me because life is taking a sudden turn! Some things are the same some things are very DIFFERENT! But that’s not what I wanna discuss today. Not about me today! Achievements. Competition. A Better You! Sounds like some motivational crap that I might just burst into outrage or advice about…and that may happy. If you haven’t figured it out yet, I write and post just as the thoughts are reaching me and my fingers! Well, I picked up this new thing where I say, “right?” after every statement I make. It’s so annoying Read more »

Family Values: The Rant

Family Values: The Rant

What are we teaching our children? What legacy are we passing on to the next generation? How can I not be concerned about my future when the generation that I’m supposed to be depending on can’t even pull their heads out of their own asses long enough to realize that things are temporary and that the world revolves in spite of them, not because of them. They can’t grasp the fact that their existence is but a blip on the radar in comparison to the magnitude of it all… whatever ‘it’ is. They completely ignore all the “It gets better.” Read more »

Politics & You: Reader’s Response

Politics & You: Reader’s Response

I’m always asking to hear/read back from you. Although it doesn’t always seem like anyone is really participating in our little sessions, I assure you, that is not the case. I have several real-time conversations with folks who read and have questions they’d maybe rather not post publicly. This is one such response to the Family Values post, and I got permission to share it with the class… Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did… . . . Between the ages of 6 and 13, I can recall how together my family was. How fun it as Read more »

Politics & You: Family Values

Politics & You: Family Values

Hello there! Today, we’re going to take a much needed break from race relations to talk about family and how our value of it has been on a steady decline since the day someone decided that there needed to be child labor laws. Of course I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with child labor laws, I am on the other hand saying that people stopped valuing family when they stopped being able to lean on their children as income contributors between sunrise and sunset. I’m also not saying that it was all because of child labor legislation, because feminism Read more »
